The Francis Bailey Society recognizes leadership donors who have contributed $10,000 or more annually to the Charitable Foundation of the Islands.
This society is named for Francis, a Sanibel visionary, and CFI’s first chairman. Read more about the organization’s history at History of CFI - 1990’s to 2024 and beyond — Charitable Foundation of the Islands.
A son of the island’s pioneering family, Bailey dedicated his life to helping the community become the treasure it is today. As the face of Bailey’s General Store, he was a welcoming presence, one who could be seen driving his beloved Model T around town. For this reason, Rachel Pierce of the Rachel Pierce Art Gallery created and donated a commemorative gift depicting Francis' Model T for our generous investors. She gifted the painting to the Johnson family -- Bailey's daughter and son-in-law, Mead and Richard Johnson, and their children.
Please join us in thanking our tremendous benefactors who have helped CFI continue to serve the Islands of Sanibel and Captiva since 2000.
